Last post before PEI, well maybe one more

Well I must say we won't be driving the car to PEI. We made the decision to trailer it over. Not because its not running but because its not really been tested.. and well its also not running that great either. We lost alot of time in the last couple of days dealing with replacing coils and fixing camshafts and figuring out wiper motors that we just couldn't fit it all in. So instead of rushing the car we decided we would trailer over what we do have done. Here are a few pictures of how far we made it as of 2:30pm july 13th.. not bad really. I will post some more pics , possibly tomorrow before we leave for the island with the car with all the doors ,glass, and hood on it. Also it will be back on its own wheels..

July 7th Less than a week to go :)

Ok OK, I know short on the pictures, I have some new ones to put up but for now just another text only update. (Pictures tonight, Late tonight, or tomorrow noonish)
So we got the new master cylender and air filter this morning, the carpets arrived yesterday afternoon.. The window seals that we couldn't get shipped shipped yeasterday and should be here early next week. Exhaust is all in position and ready to be clamped. The drive knuckles are now in place .The radiator and fan are now installed. All thats really left to get this beast running is to install the oil cooler, hook up the last 4 inches of fuel line, mount the carburator , hook up the wireing harness, and pretty much start it up. sounds easy but I expect it will be running sometime this weekend. Next week will be when we finish up the cosmetics and things like glass, doors, and hood and trunk. Just like hookin up Lego... sort of..

Jyly 6th - 9 days to go...

Well Visually speaking progress has been a little slow over the last two days. We did however accomplish quite a bit. We have installed the remote shift assembly, started to figure out the headliner, discovered that we needed to modify the headers a bit to make evrything fit... and then modified them... Discovered that the modifications to the header wasn't quite right and that they need to be slightly modified again... Got some wiring repairs done to the harnes in the 'boot'. Also word on the street is that the new master cylinder will be here monday from Ontario. The carpets shipped last friday from England ( and are probably going to be a month at customs in Toronto...who knows...) new rubbers and parts for the side glass are kind of in limbo untill we can get ahold of the 'guy that says he has some to sell but that we can't seem to get him to sell them to us..' and then get them shipped. Doors, hood, and 'boot' lid are all still over at the painters, uhm, their gona get on those asap ;) ,we hope. I think thats it for now. I think we will be making the show... May not have all the 'i's dotted and 't's crossed but the car should get there under its own power....

July 4th - 11 days to go..

Here are a couple close up pictures of the engine with the wireing harness and the manifold .
Here you see the manifold and where the carburator goes. The carburator fits but the air filter doesn't so we have to order a new cone shapped air filter instead of the flat one we have now, no big deal. Also at the same time today we will be ordering the new master brake cylender.
And here you see the first seat to go in the car.. nice..
Tonight we should be able to get the headliner done and then jack the car up so that we can do final adjustment on the steering rack and then install the rest of the tranny and hook up an exhaust. I will make another post later tonight with the progress of the day! Posted by Picasa
